Photograph album documents Alexander Wetmore's work in Panama in 1954. He visited the Canal Zone Biological Area and collected bird specimens in Chiriqui. Report in a related folder indicates most of his work focused on the 4000 -6000 foot elevations in the subtropical zone. He was assisted by Beatrice Thielen Wetmore. Photographs include numbers, date, and caption with description and location. Subject matter included events he attended in Panama; shorelines, forests observed; examples of vegetation; vistas of volcano in Chiriquí province; Panamanian staff and families; lodgings; and modes of transportation used
