The field notes document the ornithological field work of Joshua F. B. Camblos in Virginia, 1932 - 1934. Entries are not chronological. Entries are headed with type of bird, date, location, and name of collector. This is followed by a narrative that includes a combination of information about habitat, vegetation, nest construction, behavior of female bird, and appearance of eggs. Following this is a table of data with name, no., date, set, incubation; narrative entries headed with date and set identifier that describe appearance and condition of eggs (sometimes with measurements), habitat, location, and type of bird.
