In the years following the fall of Napoleon, Captain Scarlett (Richard Greene) returns to France to discover that his lands have been seized by an unscrupulous nobleman.
After saving Princess Maria (Leonora Amar) and being joined by a man named Pierre (Nedrick Young) who has also lost his lands, the group proceeds on a series of adventures in the fight for justice.

Fun, But Does Not Erase Memories of "Robin Hood"
As a child of the '50's, Richard Greene will forever be Robin Hood for me. That having been said, this is not a bad little programmer.
Nedrick Young, who played Pierre, later went on to win an Academy Award for his script for "The Defiant Ones". Director Thomas "Tommy" Carr was at the helm for many episodes of "The Adventures of Superman."

Enjoyable
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through . . . Oh, no, it´s Captain Scarlett, and there is no Maid Marian, but some kind of Princess. Richard Greene (the Robin Hood of the TV Serial) is no Erroll Flynn, the rest of the actors isn´t better, the story is quite predictable, but if you don´t ask too many questions the movie is entertaining.

pretty good for an awful movie
This one reminded me of Robin Hood, and Men in Tights. This movie isn't funny like Men in Tights, but it does have a few brief, fleeting comical moments if you like subtle humor.
The story line and the acting were mediocre, but it does have nice colorful scenery and it was a good adventure and I am not at all sorry I watched it.
