This field book contains field notes of collections Stelfox made from 28 May 1946 to 12 May 1948 in Scotland and Ireland. Most specimens collected were insects, primarily hymenoptera. Other types of specimens may have been collected. Notes on botanical specimens observed and possibly collected are also included. Stelfox lists the name of the specimen, date collected, sex, quantity, sometimes remarks on the weather, location, sometimes specific type of environment, sometimes remarks about which specimens he would like to collect, sometimes additional information. Localities include, but are not limited to Kerry, Skerrie Bog, Landenstown, Royal Canal, Ben Lawer, Athdown, and Clondalkin. 'R.C.L.P' following a name signifies that specimen were seen and verified by D. R. C. L. Perkins, F.R.S. Miscellaneous notes and notes on specimens collected for me by R. C. Faris (ofGaran) when on holiday at Dunderan, Oct. 1946, are also included
