Fosberg from 29 June to 23 September 1961 in Mexico, Virginia, California, and Hawaiian Islands. Collector numbers 41862-42180 are included. Specimen list includes scientific name, date, locality, collector number, with occasional notes on locality or physical descriptions of specimens (size, color, etc.). Some longer narrative notes describe the vegetation in various localities. Localities include but are not limited to: Chichen Itza, Alacran, Chica Island (Mexico); Shenandoah National Park (Virginia); and Maui, Oahu (Hawaii). Also included are wind direction and rainfall recordings for Yucatan, Mexico
