This field book contains dated specimen lists for plants and animals observed and collected by Bailey during his collection and observation efforts in California and Nevada from October 17, 1890- January 7, 1891. Localities are noted beginning at Wells, Nevada and ending at "Surprise Cañon". Additional localities include Death Valley, Panamint Valley and other various places in Mojave Desert. Localities are primarily in the vicinity of Reese River Canyon. The notebook also contains drawings of animal tracks and poetry related to animal collecting
