This field book contains a list of specimens collected by Killip and Smith, from approximately 1926 to 1927 in Colombia. Included are collector numbers 14001-23999. Each entry lists collector number, scientific name, and record of distribution indicated by letter. The title page of the book includes a key for letters used to designate distribution: USNM, New York Botanical Garden, Gray, Ann Arbor, Kew, Trelease, Berlin, Epling, Philadelphia, Bailey, Stockholm, Vienna, Leningrad, Madrid.
This diary includes Killip's daily entries for January 1 - December 31, 1927. This is a 1926 diary that Killip used for the year 1927. Entries are narrative and document Killip's daily activities including where he went, what he did, and who he saw. Collecting activities are sometimes described briefly. He sometimes includes details such as certain paths or routes traveled while collecting, or travels by sea. A list of expenses is included in the back of the field book. Localities mentioned include: Chinácota, Turbaco, and Magdalena, among others
