Second annual report (1862) includes a letter from the Governor of Queensland, Sir George Bowen, to the Society, offering to form a Queensland branch of the Society and to send consignments of Queensland fauna to London. The letter was also signed by A.C. Gregory, John Jardine and George Elphinstone Dalrymple. The reply to Bowen by the Secretaries is also printed, agreeing to the offer, and "requesting consignments of the Bustard, the Talegalla, and the Wonga Pigeon, with any other Birds, Animals, or Vegetables which would be likely to be of service to the Society". The report also records the formation of the NSW Society and an account of an unsuccessful attempt to ship live Murray Cod to Britain. QSL
