Subject: Good Halloween Show
The WRS>LIG is a little rough with Kimock, but the rest of the first set is nice.
Anyone else hear the Milestones theme at the end during Stuff, or am I just crazy?

although i have a decent collection of dead shows, i have never really seen any of the remaining members of the grateful dead play before. i have seen kimock though and phish, as well as a wide assortment of other "jammy" type groups. point is, that i was expecting more of a sing along atmosphere filled with reminiscence and good vibes [which is fine, mind you] as opposed to an atmosphere filled with appreciation for musicianship. i was wrong. bob weir can still rip it up on guitar and with kimock on lead, ratdog was tight as hell. this was actually an amazing show to be at, the musical interplay between kimock & weir was creative and highly energetic and you could tell the rest of the band was also having a great time up there. the show gets 5/5 stars and the recording gets 3/5 stars, (close to 4 though). the only problem(s) one might have is the somewhat noticeable audience noise (most auds have this anyway though) and that in a few spots the mid & high-range frequencies (e.g. lead guitar and keys) seem to be over-powered by vocals and low-range frequencies (e.g. bass). the spots i mention in the recording are pretty infrequent and can easily be improved with an audio editor [like audacity] if one wishes to do so. aside from this, the sound is mostly consistent and quite clear. kudos to the taper for recording this fantastic show!

This is the best Ratdog has sounded in a while IMO. First set was a banger the two openers are always fun no doubting that Maggies>music it just sounds fun. WRS>LIG has an insane jam a must listen Kimock takes off (hes on point the entire night really cut loose). Stagger>Golden also brought it great ending to the 1st set sky high note to take a break at.
2nd Set: Big Iron eased us in. Hard Rain took a little to get movein but it certainly did (again Kimock outro did it). Half>Unlce brought it right back to the top. Stuff>Knockin, Stuff got really intense at one point not gonna lie they were throwin down and brought it in for a lite knockin on heaven (nive treat to hear bobby play). StSteph>Will>Eleven I must have gotten lost b/c I thought it was a long as St Steve and that was it amazing nonetheless it jus shows how hard I was jammin through these tunes to not even realize a song change at all haha. E: Warewolves OoooowwwwooooO all I gotta say to that.
For those who attended it was an intimate but at most points intense night. Bobby sang well and seriously IMO laid down some great rhythm throughout the show. The band is made up of some great musician and they were on point as usual. Kimock brought it full circle though and made this night face meltingly smooth when it needed to be and took it higher than RD ever thought they could go im sure. There are some True Gems in here def. give this show a listen to when available.
