Knock-off Crap!
Crap, crap, crap - and these two guys know it!
The Boogiemonster & Cosmic Slop's Chuck get to playing their favorite - - or most ridiculous - - "knock-offs," or cut-rate cover-songs by artists with such creative names as "The Party People" (yuck), "PP Yawn" (lol), and the famous "Smack," who apparently charted (!) with their ridiculous cover of Smash Mouth's "Walkin' on the Sun." (check out Chuck's reaction when it's played!)
Aside from playing a couple "legitimate" covers by "legitimate" artists (a re-record of "More More More," which shows up a couple more times in the Crap from the Past archives & Elton John's interpretation of Creedence's "Up Around The Bend"), this romp through the discount, import & cutout bins is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because you now no longer have to wonder what the "Euro-Dance Party 1992!" 12" sounds like every time you pass it at your local Goodwill - - but a curse because it is a blistering two hours of this stuff!
Entertaining, informative, silly & overall another fantastic Crap from the Past. Now, where's my Super Golden Hits '74 LP on K-Tel? Oh, wait - maybe I'll do THE YEAR IN MUSIC '79 on Excelsior...
