One of the best, for sure. A lot of what the biscuits do best is all squeezed into one palindrome.
PSA: the band uploaded the rich steele remastered cut to the nugs app last year, and it's not behind the paywall!

The first set of this one is a good, solid set, and certainly better than anything the Disco Biscuits have managed in the post-Sammy universe, but it'a the second set where this show goes completely berserk.
9/1 gets the strong pimp hand, and deservedly so, but Webster set II tops it. There is zero time to even take a breath here. The only moment they even hesitate is the beat in the 25 minute Overture invert where they go from the ending to the beginning. That's it. No wasted notes, no aimless noodling, no untz.
Everybody there was totally focused on what was going on up there, there was no chitter chatter, the entire crowd was just into it, and when they finally slam back into the ending of Reactor, the entire place EXPLODED in a way I've never seen before or since in the 1000+ shows I've attended.
We all knew what we had just seen. The top of the freakin mountain.
The Disco Biscuits tried more palindromes after this, but none were nearly as successful, and without Sammy they'll never be the same band again, but this night they reached a peak higher than any band I've ever seen before or since.

This show is widely regarded as the best DB show in history.
It will never be rivaled given the decision of then drummer, Sammy, to leave the band. The band still exists, just with a different drummer.

Other than set 2 from 9/1/01, set 2 here is the best set of 2001, possibly ever. This Reactor is entirely epic, but that only begins to describe a pallindrome that is masterfully constructed and executed.
Sound isn't perfect but for a show like this it hardly matters.
If it sounds like I'm hyping this show up it's because I am, and it's completely deserving. Get it if you haven't already.
