Lot of love for this show on the Archive (35k listens!) but sounds to me like a good average Biscuits '02 show. Fans might be surprised how "jambandish" a lot of this sounds with most of the electronics kept to a minimum. Sound quality though is very good with a recording from the bands archivist Dr. John Madigan that would pass for a show on livedownloads. The show went until 6 in the morning - crazy!

My first Bisco show. Barber still plays guitar like a {}. Allen is the Nughuffer.

While I think the show from the next night holds up a bit better on disc... I actually preferred this night's performance to that of 10/5. There was something magical about the music and the vibe this night that didn't seem to carry over to the 10/5 show (although you wouldn't know that from listening to the discs).
From the getgo we were treated to a dubtastical Ladies -> Voices opener that set the tone for the entire weekend. There wasn't an off note for the rest of the night. I still contend that the Lai -> HDPF -> Ladies -> Lai sequence from the second set is some of the most interesting music I have ever heard. I was bloody, beaten, and torn and sure the show was over... but no, the Disco Biscuits mocked my exhaustion, taunted me, and egged me on with the opening notes to my favorite anthem, Svenghali. Perfect!

Along with 10/5, this show is one of the best of 2002. 3 hours of pure Biso sickness. Highlights are the House Dog > KOTW > Buddha in the first set, the Triumph > Crystal Ball in the second, and of course the showcase Little Lai sandwich.
The source sounds great to boot, very crisp and clear.
Thanks to everyone who makes acquiring and spreading these amazing shows possible.

arguably the best weekend of disco biscuits ever. the accessibility of these two shows is great, making it a perfect introduction for beginning biscuits listeners.
ladies>voices is a great opener, and the drop into king of the world took everyone by surprise. the first east-coast version of digital buddah was fantastic as well. my favorite version of home again and my favorite magellan follow. a good magellan often has a recurring theme or riff that pervades throughout the jam, and this one is brilliant. it's simplicity is astounding: just two notes that swing into the downbeat, but its effect is fantastic.
an excellent stand alone rock candy gets things pumping for the beginning of the second set. but it's the little lai progression that dominates this second set. an extremely solid second house dog jam leads right into the end of ladies, which exceeds expectations by not ending and disintegrating into one of the best quiet/slow biscuits jams I've ever heard. this eventually turns into the end of little lai. an exciting svenghali and solid story of the world close out this gem. it's made even better by the fact that it's some of the best sounding, non-SBD discs in circulation.
