Subject: Very Solid Overall Show
Subject: Very Solid Overall Show
The sound quality one this show is fantastic. The more I listen to these 2003 shows, the more impressed I am with how they sound.
Morph is a good way to start the show. The jam is nothing out of this world, but it's a solid start.
46:29 long Basis. Is there any way this could have been bad, really? There's a very decent intro jam, an extended middle jam (in between the composed portions) and a long ending jam. It's very good, but wasn't good enough to be the best portion of this particular night.
The second set starts out pretty boring, honestly. The Rock Candy > Munchkin Jam is very straightforward, not very interesting at all. However, the Crickets jam gets things back on track, with a very nice jam going into Widow In The Rain (which obviously is straightforward).
Easily the best portion of the night is the fantastic Resurrection > B&C (><) > Voices section. The jam out of Resurrection is pretty boring, but when they shift towards B&C, the build into the B&C peak is fantastic. This is up there with the 4/4/03 AC2B for major key jamming greatness in 2003. The jam that's out of B&C is also fantastic, very pretty and light jam into the beginning of Voices, and Barber has some beautiful guitar work here.
The Crickets > Rock Candy jam is solid. They must have been sick of playing beautiful, pretty music, because this jam gets fairly dark.
The Grass is Green encore is straightforward. A little boring, but not too much, and it's a fun way to end a phenomenal show.
So the Basis was pretty good, but not incredible. The > B&C > Voices segment great, great Biscuits. The rest is about average.
