Subject: Smart, end a show with two jamless songs
Subject: Smart, end a show with two jamless songs
Good sound.
Svenghali - The jam takes a little while to get going, but Barber starts playing some really cool stuff right around the 7 minute mark. Unfortunately, they get away from the cool theme almost instantly. What a shame. The rest of the jam is meh.
Rock Candy - This is just a straight up trance throwdown jam. Really enjoy this.
Story > AC2B - The jam out of Story consists largely of Barber "shredding" and not theme-building. Very boring, unless that's truly what you love. He's not missing a lot of notes or anything, but I am not all that interested in hearing Barber solo for 3-4 minutes straight. Decent happy 1st jam in AC2B, but nothing I'd freak out about. 2nd jam is much better; blissed out happy stuff that should be played in AC2B 2nd jams.
And they finish the show with jamless versions of 42 and Spy?! Are you kidding me? Wow. Poor move.
2 stars. Decent sound, but 1/3 of the songs they played had no jam at all, and Svenghali/Story were pretty bland. AC2B (2nd) and Rock Candy are the reasons to listen to anything here.

Subject: Great set
Subject: Great set
This set is absolutely phenomenal. Every song is full of soaring crescendoes, pounding rhythms, and the segue between SOTW -> AC2B is incredible. It also sounds pretty damn good. This is an excellent pick for a one disc show, or any show for that matter.
