Subject: Zen of listening
I have to admit that I also had a bit of a WTF moment in terms of the pace of this show, but when I was listening to the Crazyfingers (one of my favorites) I had a moment of enlightenment where I really just let go of my expectations and LISTENED in the moment. I wasn't trying to anticipate the music at all. Rather, I let the tunes develop and unfold in the moment. Sounds rather Zen, I know, but it worked and now that WTF moment has turned into a WOW moment. Enjoy this one.

Subject: They're Back! I Don't Care What Anyone Thinks!!!
This show is solid all the way through, and I called the opener 6 months ago!Anyway, all the haters need to back off, man!Warren is not trying to take Jerry's place, and couldn't if he wanted to!Phil,Bob,Billy, and Mickey were having a blast up there, and that's what it's al about! As for the slow groove,I loved it!These people that keep whinning around about anything and everything that they can think of realy need to find another band to follow, because that's not what this scene is about,ya know? I know that personal expression is important, but when it turns into complete trashing of the band then we've got to draw the line! These men are out there playing their asses off for us,and we need to respect that! What will we do when they're gone????Not :):):)!! :(:(:(!!! Please guys lets try to be kind because this scene has been around for a long time, and we might not have much time left!Lets enjoy what they give us,and remember that everyone, including the band, knows that it will never be the same, but the spirit is there and always will be! PEACE & MUCH LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Nice
Subject: Nice
Having been around long enough to have seen just about all the incarnations I am pleased with what is happening and the willingness to re-work and re-interpret stuff. I recall Jerry moving a bit slowly through a song or two in the day. Friend of the Devil got very slow and I remember a cosmic Charlie or two going a "bit to slowly". Regardless this show is very nice and I would recommend it. I actually like SOTM with the pace and slide. Masons Children, Stephen >>> 11 and the Crazy fingers stand out for me as well. The best part of the Archive is giving everyone room to express what they enjoy and do not. open and free expression is what drives this band and always has. What I like may not be for everyone and the same for each member of the band. Lets just lighten up and let everyone have there own views and try and be kind.

Bobby singing SOTM in a terrible way while the slide guitar change makes it yet worse.
I am all about the re-arrangement of songs, but this is a bad one.
The 1/2 step is more like a full step it is so slow, and again, not a fan of Bobby singing it.
In general, I find this stuff all to be too slow for my tastes. Its fine when a song or two is slow, but where are the rip roaring tempos they used to bring?
Edit: And, just why the hell is critiquing this incarnation of the band seemingly "illegal"? Come on folks... get real. We criticize 65-95, we can criticize this too. Its called reviewing.

Many thanks for the great recordings. This second set is kool as a pack o' menthols. Goodness, Playing in the Band envelopes a groovin' lil trio in St. Stephen> Eleven> Mississippi Uptown and I'm really diggin the encore that sent the crowd to their cars. Looking forward to the next posting to help ease the workday.

This is a very well played show and this recording is damned nice. Song selection is entertaining. Great Doin That Rag and superb St Stephen>Eleven.
Warren Haynes sounds like he is comfortable with his lead guitarist role and his singing is excellent. Overall, the band sounds rehearsed. They are having a blast playing together again.
Bobby sounds healthy -- stronger in voice and much more assertive on guitar than in recent times.
Chimenti on the keys is pleasantly prominent, the drummers do well on their solo period and Phil is Phil.
Perhaps this show does not warrant a 5 star rating because it is not a barnburner. Nonetheless, I gave it 5 because I am happy with the presentation. I think we have not heard the last of this band and I am mighty glad to be thinking that way.

Seems like they are getting tighter as each night goes by. Highlights for me here are: St. Stephen> The 11, and the transistion from Playin' to Crazy Fingers (Phil is going nuts)! ALSO, I really like Warren singing High Time. SOURCE: Both sources are decent, but i prefer this one. This source seems to be a bit crisper. Overall 4.5 rating (source and performance)- Haven't heard the Albany show yet but the 2nd set looks like the set of the tour so far. We'll see. Heading to Worcester tonight, can't wait! Terrapin anybody? Thanx to all involved in getting these shows posted. We all are very grateful! -Peace

Not able to make this tour, so big thanks to all involved in getting these shows out to us,
This recording is great, as are all so far. Good job to the tapers.
I got to listen to set 2 last night on a short road trip, gotta say I was impressed. Good jamming and exploratory improv. This band seems to be tightening up a bit as the tour goes on.
Cant wait to hear the Albany show, and will be tuned into Sirius/XM tonight for the live broadcast.
