I first caught Derek back in the mid-'90s when he was an unknown, before he was in the ABB. His band opened for Austin bluesman Jake Andrews (son of "Toad" Andrews of Mother Earth) here at the Rialto in Tucson. The David Nelson Band was in town that night, about three blocks away. I made it to the DTB opening act, then hauled it on foot and caught DNB (sorry, Jake).
Both shows were great, but it was obvious then that Derek had something "special." Sadly, he's moved away from the blues towards a more jazz-world music fusion. You'd think Susan Tedesche (Mrs. Trucks...) would have amped the blues in the dude's system. Maybe "Slowhand" can do it this summer...
Anyway, this is a great sounding soundboard from Derek's very early days. Like another reviewer, I was able to fit it on one audio CD (79:58, but it fit!). Great stuff all the way through! Worth the download!

WOW! They have changed so much since this I mean they have Kofi Burbridge, Yon Rico Scott and Mike Mattison now, this show is really really cool but the shows now are alot better. The only thing that kind of well...disgusted me...was the singing Awwww!! But this is a must Down Load Show.
