Gotta Love Todd Smallie on bass with DTB. Hidden gem of a player. Cool dude.

At times, this recording seems a little muffled. Vocals are drowned out by rest of band, sometimes. I don't know if was bad MIC placement or what. Still a decent enough version of show to download if your a fan. NOT my favorite version of 555 Lake. It gave me a head-ache.

It seems from listening that Jimmy does not come on stage until track 3, contrary to what the track listing indicates. Good show, not on the same level as the years that followed though. Kofi Burbridge added a lot to the sound when he joined, and I miss him here, although he pops up seemingly out of nowhere to play a flute solo on the last song. I know he joined in '99, but I don't know when exactly, so I don't know if this is a sit-in or what. The keyboardist here is adequate but not spectacular, and I prefer the newer vocalist to this one as well. Jimmy sounds outstanding and there is a nice push/pull between him and Derek as always. They take the jam WAY out there on 555 Lake. A quite enjoyable show, especially for Jimmy fans.
