Notes
Caveat:
This sounds rather different to my ears than Dix Pix 8.
Bear deserves more recognition in our community for his contributions in my opinion,
sit back and think about him when this Other One melts your face.
The show also has no circulating shnid, so i decided to change that.
In respect i am seeding the 24 bit only;
Please purchase music from the band for your CD listening.
==================================================
I made this 16 bit conversion for those who don't have the ability to listen to 24 bit music. This should be a minority by now - consider that any analog stereo is already playing superior quality than most digital formats, including 24 bit. Setting up your stereo to play 24 bit quality from your computer is neither time consuming or expensive, so please consider why this was originally seeded in 24 bit only and give that a try. If you still feel stuck in the 16 bit trap, so be it.
But you should really, really give the 24 bit a try.

Subject: crowd-pop during Cumberland Blues?
the crowd sounds pretty hot. i heard some people complaining about the people up front early on.

You don’t get it
Too bad
Acid test or not
Subject: The Poster Displayed Isn't for this Show
It's not for this show. If you look closely, it's from the Muir Beach Acid Test from 1965. One clear giveaway that this poster isn't advertising the Harpur College Show of 1970 is that the poster lists among the 'performers' Neal Cassady. That iconic Beat and Prankster died in 1968.
Subject: Nice acoustic set, but...
Combines the energy of shorter primal TOO's and space of the 40 minute jams from the early 70s.
Subject: Cold Jordan
"I am sure without HIM
you never will make it HOME"
This is a great show. The acoustic set has a lot of emotion. I always considered this one of my favorite Cumberland Blues.
Also the banter is pretty funny.
I had Cowboy Dead and Thornbones
on one cassette-That was cool!

Subject: One Song!!
That means that those of us who have this show on 42-year-old cassette, reel or bootleg vinyl have a superior listening experience than what is offered here.
In the early '70's, there was a bootleg album from this show that was very popular in my circle of heads. It was called "THE COWBOY'S DEAD!" and had this 'lyric' printed on the cover: "Spanish lady she came to me & layed on me this drug." It also had a drawing of a western desert scene with a dead man hanging from a tree, and said "Live at Harpur Spring '70". Side 1 was 'Deep River Blues' (Deep Elem), Candyman, Cumberland Blues and Cosmic Charlie. Side 2 was The Other One.
Candyman proceeded into Cumberland without having to switch tracks, and side 2 was one uninterrupted half hour of face-melting bliss.
