With no review for this show I thought i would take the chance and get right in.
I'm totally new to being a part of the archive & coming across all these shows is amazing & humbling.
This to me is an incredible recording from an incredible show, the sound mix is crystal yet radial at the same time, and by the sounds of it each member is allowing the etherical mind melt to really flow, i speak especially of the potent Dark Star were Phil Lesh's bass work interlocks and interweaves like an oiled eel on tequila..100% sublime.
Favorites that stand an inch above the others are Jack Straw>China/Rider>Cumberland>Row>Ship & Weather/Grow.
Having said that I wouldnt sniff at a single note off any of the others at this gig, especially Loser...words fail..music matters.
On first listen I was thinking 'this is slow, perhaps it wasnt pitched speeded right"? especially the opening 20'secs of China/Rider But I reckon they are just playing loose and having fun...& besides if you cant chill into the songs you right now and again whats the point in writting them..
[if you can run two tracks of the D.S back2back with a half second delay between the two, try it by
10:26 I started to feel woozie... better still, dont try it....Bahhhaaarrrr!]
I was gonna give it 4...but its got to be a five.TOTALLY OFF THE MAP!..G
