Funny how it goes from not too many shows around Christmas
to just take your pick as we Head towards New Years.
I wanted to find a show that I wasn't very familiar with and this one certainly qualifies.
Some blown lyrics with Bertha opener but the band takes it in stride.
Bertha>Good lovin' are hard rockin' indeed
BE Women- sweet version and Jerry is locked in on the vocals.
Garcia phrases his lyrics quite nicely
Cassidy- so nice, Donna ready and already primed
Nothing like her and Bobby sharing the vocals on this tune.
I don't know are they gonna rock Peggy-O because everything is way up-tempo.
They are sparking, best description I can give
Set 1
Bertha ->
Good Lovin'
Brown Eyed Women
Cassidy
Peggy-O
Looks Like Rain
Jerry getting mandolin sounds from his guitar
Dire Wolf
Tricky to find the just right version of this Standard
Garcia giving the vocals some what for
Give it up for DJG hanging toe to toe with Jerry vocally
This is a tasty effort!
"while the boys sing round the fire"
Wow, all the Dead Air seems to be excised
so the effect is like a freaking roller coaster.
Drummers are in a good spot on this recording.
Nice funky feel for the
Passenger
I still consider this a real gem from the band
perfect for this time period
JAM
wow that was really tight ending on the wha-wha of Garcia
Candyman
This is the most introspective tune of the night so far
El Paso
Friend Of The Devil
The Music Never Stopped
Beautiful , superb and tight music jam to close it
Set 2
THIS SPEAKS FOR ITSELF
