So, your first instinct is to say, "hmmmm, I don't remember there being a show on Nov. 8th 1978" Then, you wonder why there's a few days between this and the next show. Oh yeah...Jerry came down with bronchitis, right and they had to cancel some dates? Ok, so you start to listen...perfectly reasonable opener for a 78 show, "Minglewood", but something is a little off, (or rather "on"). What is it??? It's the keyboard.
What?!?!? They forced Keith to experiment with an organ at this show? And he's very agressive...almost like...Brent! Huh??? No, that can't be. Wouldn't I have read about this in TTC? So, you go to TTC and guess what? They don't review this show. Well, there is precedent for that. They went to print before Charlie Miller was sent down by god almighty himself to be our Prometheus.
Ok, organ solo coming up...it's not vintage Brent, it's a little tentative, but still not as laid back as Keith. That's when you realize the first show of the fall tour is in Boston, not MD and you knew that all along.
So yeah, this show is misplaced. It belongs in the middle of next year's fall tour.
