Subject: MOTB 24 bit!
Subject: MOTB 24 bit!
I had this second set as one of my first bootlegs back in '81 with one of the others being Long Beach 12/13/80, so for me "Tiger" was the guitar played by Jerry that completely seduced me.
In this high resolution upgrade, and if you have a decent DAC, you will be more than extremely pleased...hopefully ecstatic with this performance and the exceptional, and I mean vastly superior, sound quality.
It puts you right back in the concert hall in Cleveland and every nuance of Jerry's fine playing will bring you much listening joy and awe.
The Shakedown is slightly slower in tempo but is played with that extra pinch of funk and the band just throws it down. The end of the set from Jack-A- Roe is heaven and then Bob throws alittle more gas on the fire with a ripping Promised Land.
Setting II features a rare second set Ramble on Rose, 1972 anyone? Then the set high lite a stellar Playing> China Doll> Playing reprise> Wheel.
China Doll is exquisite.
This show has a different feel than other nights from this incredible, and a personal favorite of mine, spring tour...more old school as they only "new" tune played was Althea.
The Drums will be of particular interest, if you do enjoy the Rhythm Devils, as this master MOTB will shake your house.
One thing I love about the Archive is that even after all these years of streaming and downloading shows. The MOTB bunch takes it to a new level with preserving these master recordings with a improved 24/96 transfer.
As others have mentioned search out other other shows from them and you will be gratefully rewarded.
My recommendations are 9/10/83, 7/2/89, which will blow you away!, 3/14/81, not 24 bit but should be:), and if you love Good Ole' GD 12/11/69. A rare killer audience recording.
Thank you MOTB!
Happy trails.

This recording is proof that good gear in a great spot beats great gear in a good spot. Mouth of the Beast indeed! One of the better Audience recordings you'll hear. It doesn't hurt that the band is on :)

Just a superb AUD -- even by the very high MOTB standards. It just kind of transports you -- about as close as you can come to being there. I cannot adequately express with words the feeling that I get listening to this recording--I'm listening to it at work now and it is just killing me not to be able to dance. You hear all the exchanges between Phil, Bob and Jerry just as clear -- as clear as that high note Jerry hits at the first of "Franklin's Tower" on the Blues for Allah album. This recording is going to move your feet, for sure.
THANK YOU!
Killer show too. Great versions of lots of the songs, but the El Paso and Jack-A-Roe really stood out to me-- the boys were hitting on all cylinders and just FLYING.

One of the most excellent AUDs you'll hear, and easily one of the Dead's 100 best shows ever.
