The only Cold Rain and Snow encore, ever. Seems cruel and unusual.
BTW, the t-shirt noted below is from a poem entitled "The men who don't fit in." My 11th grade english teacher made me read it. He was a man that didn't fit in, and perhaps I am too, a characteristic he valued, and perhaps was attempting to illustrate.

Subject: Longest set break ever
Subject: Longest set break ever
I don't know if it was just me, but the set break on this show seemed to go on for an hour and a half.... anyone remember that? Note Weirs comment about "being back as soon as it stops raining", as well as the fact that it rained fish, lol.
The clouds billowed up on the horizon, came in from three different directions somehow, and met in the middle over the show. then they took the longest set break ever!!!
I saw Wavy Gravy there.... Had no idea Kesey was there, and we also saw the strangest looking guy wearing a t-shirt that said, "There's a race of men that don't fit in,
A race that can't stay still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin,
And they roam the world at will." that haunts us to this day!!!
Rating based on enjoyment of the show, not the playing, although, on this, my second listen after all these years - is pretty tight!!!

Not to rag, BUT Weir is the worst slide guitar player I've EVER heard (and I've played slide for 35 years). You can hear the frets scraping on EVERY note. I never understood why he kept at it, but couldn't get any better.
A man's got to know his limitations (Dirty Harry)!

Enjoy this one. Great recording of a great show. Rare well played opener and encore in a solid fast paced show w/ highlights from every member of the band. Phil, Brent, and the drummers are on the entire show. Weir makes up for bumbling the lyrics of the opener with some hot slide in Minglewood. Nice stripped down intro into Brother Esau. Jerry shines during a hot TLEO and fast paced China>Rider not to mention his vocals and guitar are on the entire show. Also some interesting jamming by Weir and Brent after Jerry leaves the stage at the 6 minute mark of an epic China Doll prior to transition into drums. Great fast paced second set with smokin versions of Woman Smarter, Cumberland, and GDTRFB. Nice jammed out PITB is another second set highlight. Don't pass up this show or this version. Thanks to the best band to ever walk the earth and everyone else that made it possible for me to listen to this gem.

Redrocks through the Sangre De Cristo's to Santa Fe. Wavy and Kesey in the parking lot. China Doll rainbow, Phil sings again during the Cold Rain. Great 2nd set, better memories.

And Phil singing on Cold rain??? Drove from Boulder for the shows. Out door shows in September in NM are awsome. So are the after show antics in Santa Fe
