This place is holy ground on the East Coast next to Hampton. Over 50 shows there. I enjoyed seeing the Fat Man slobbing down a burger and chugging on a Pall Mall in between or even during a song. If the musicality "GD is God philosophers" can't get past the party atmosphere that was the essence of a Dead Show and all they listen for is musical bliss, too bad for them, they're chasing ghosts anyhow. It's over, tapes don't have it unless you've experienced it.
I miss him,

i agree he sounds like one of those critics teaching a gdead 101 course. but i disagree with you on another... he wasn't in the spectrum that night, he's one of those posers born in 80's!! "jerry gasping for air"? last night of the tour, sbrew! we were TREATED to 'walkin the dog','bottom>superstitious' & 'revolution.' hell, billy could've sung the tunes & boscomorgan & i would still rave about this night!

THIS DUDE SBREW REALLY SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF THOSE CATS THAT WOULD SIT IN HIS SEAT AND PICK APART EACH AND EVERY SONG RATHER THAN GROOVE ON WHAT IS HAPPENING ON STAGE,BECAUSE YEAH IT WAS NOT ONE OF THE TOP 5 SHOWS OF THE YEAR BUT HAD I NOT BEEN THERE AFTER LISTENING TO THE TAPES OF THE SHOW I WOULD FEEL LIKE I MISSED SOME KILLER MUSIC.SO SBREW YOU JUST FALL INTO THE GROUP OF LOSERS THAT LOOK FOR WHAT IS WRONG ABOUT A SHOW INSTEAD OF JUST DIGGING IT.

Reviews are contagious and sadly unreliable. This show starts off with some nice moments but just degenerates into sloppiness and sludge.
It's just sad after hearing a show like this, to see all these rave reviews about how the band was "ON" and how Revolution was a "masterpiece". Wow, it honestly was a mess.
While the show certainly has moments (mostly in set 1), it's just dragging itself the rest of the way, sloppy, and with Garcia gasping for air.
Anyone uninitiated, reading these delusional reviews, then listening for him/herself will just have more fodder to claim that the GD are a joke and that the fans are clueless. Neither is true, though these reviews would lead you to think otherwise.
The band has put out a slew of wonderful shows and there are so many better ones than this (and better ones from this tour, too). This show may be worth hearing for some, but why do we keep claiming rave reviews for moments of total wreck? Emperor's New Clothes Syndrome perhaps?
