Have a hard time remembering the 1st set other than they opened with hell/sugaree again. Also, I was not going to here 1 mo Sat nite for an encore.
2nd set was just great! Everything into drums was rocking spot on. The Ashes/nfa was on fire. Reminded me of the spring Philly version. Kind of felt like they were going fly into St Stephen in the middle of NFA but I was just hi and dreaming.
I was in summer school and my prof was rather upset his dead head student went to see the shows 40 minutes away on a weekend. I mean WTF was going on in his mind? I didn't go on tour or anything! Missed out on Blossom and Hersey and the Cryptical in Cinnci. Caught the Starlight one in Sept.
Yah, I really liked that 2nd set at Alpine. '85 was fast paced new drum set up and full of gusto.

Spotlights
I was visiting my friend, Joe, who was dying, and put on this 2nd set for him. He had always known me to be a Head and poo-poo-ed the GD. But after the Lost/Saint he said to me "who is this"? "Grateful Dead", I replied. He's like..."The Grateful Dead" He continued, "If I known this was the way the Dead played, I'd have had my strippers(He owned a Go-Go Bar) dancing to this instead of Metallica" Anyway, Joe died some months later, but for those of us who remain, This 2nd set rocks. Enjoy it.
