welcome back
First night of the new year's run, just two weeks after the post coma return - that was at the cavernous coliseum and this was back at the (more) intimate Arena (Convention Center, whatever). They did not disappoint - new songs, old songs, smooth transitions, rockers, ballads, all tied together with the (really?) only Playing start / end sandwich. The rest of the run was equally awesome, especially 12/30 (what a show). We were all so grateful Garcia was alive and functioning that I don't think I appreciated what was happening in the moment as much as I do now.
All of the Dec 86 shows are worth a listen, the Coliseum shows from two weeks earlier were a welcome return - these were a more intimate homecoming. Catharsis throughout. Fast forward through Push Comes to Shove if you must, but wow. Amazing seven shows in Oakland.

Just Phenomenal
This is a great recording as always. Thanks CM, PS, and JW. What I am particularly impressed by is how fresh Jerry's voice sounds. Comes a Time is exquisite. You really get a sense of how great he would have sounded if they didn't play so many shows. This obviously was just the 4th show post coma and was the first of the New Year's run in '86. Not that Jerry didn't want to play so much, but it makes me wonder how they might have sounded if they played 30 shows a year, instead of 75, 80, or even 85.

Memories
Got this show on tape almost 20 years ago off a man called derek Attacks. Moved from London to L.A in the Early 90's. He gave me so many gems like Huntington 78 . Loved to know what happened to him. If your out there mate cheers. Still sounds good and through the strained Jerry voice years .
R.I.P Jerr....
P.S. Big up the Charlie Miller . You can do no wrong. If you come over the pond to the U.K let me buy you a drink or two

Help!!
This was the first show I ever saw. It was amazing. I am hoping someone videotaped the show. I would love to have a video of it. Speak up if you have a copy.
Quinn -> Dancin' was a highlight. My jaw was on the floor, but Comes a Time might be the best I ever heard.

This is a beautiful one
One of my favorites from '86. Check out the transition from Dancin'> Black Muddy River. Granted, it may have been planned (although I don't think that's a negative), but it's done flawlessly.
