i was there.
Drove 5 friends up there in my little Dodge Tradesman 100 van. No seats in the back. Only had lawn tickets. After eating some killer shrooms, me and my buddy Scotty snuck in the pavilion like ninjas, and found 2 empty seats up on the balcony. First row, dead center. Stayed there all night. Crazy Bucket opener. Right on. When the band played Victim or The Crime, i had never heard it before and i was blown away. I was also seriously tripping my balls off at that point. Made it through the whole show. Took what seemed like hours to find my way back to my van, but it was really only about a half hour. only four of us made it back to the van. Waited 3 hours for the other two. Never showed. Decided to leave and go search for them at the local Super 8 motel nearby. Yep .... they were there. Already in bed. So we left them there and i drove home. I guess they somehow made it home the next day ....... That was also the last time the Dead were allowed to play at SPAC because all deadheads climbed over the fences, or knocked them down to get in. I remember seeing some of them wading through the ravine way below the walk in bridge in order to get in. After all, that WAS the show to see. Ahhhh, the memories ........

When it Rains, It Pours
And that was the case on this day up at Toga. Hot and humid (hence, the Hell in a Bucket opener) but then the wind kicked in during Foolish Heart, and it just poured. Speakers on the lawn made for a memorable afternoon/evening of dancing. Scarlet>Fire>Estimate was classic! Fun show and a great road trip with Fordham deadheads!
