#The bass levels were way too hot in parts of the show particularly during Blow Away.
^^Little was done if any to reduce the noise levels, particularly in Wavelab. The Treble and Bass settings transferred were faithfil to the recording and preserved. If you feel too much bass or treble, adjust your system accordingly.
Dolby was not used in tape playback and no noise reduction was used in Wavelab.
These Mics were extremely sensitive to the arena crowd and high spl's from say Phil and the drumz...An artifact that is part of the recordings personality, left alone.
As a licensed structural engineer in PA I would have to say that afer hearing the Drumz, this arena is going to be stable from any interior attack that may arise in the near future ;)
Enjoy!

Subject: Truckin' - Smokestack Transition
Subject: One of the best shows ever!!
Anyway, these two nights in St. Pete hold some of the best memories for me! I stood on my seat when Jerry sung 'Sugaree' and imagined he was singing it for me, and 'Smokestack Lightning' totally kicked ass! I remember crying when I had to go back to school because I was willing to follow them anywhere! I wound up dropping out of art school and moving back north, and even catching a few more shows, but nothing like the experience of St. Pete! The atmosphere, the people, the scene. . . unforgettable!
Subject: Twenty Years Ago Today!
I am from FL and flew back from CA to hang with friends and see these shows. I first got on archive in March and this show was not well represented. I have got my music list in order and have been running through getting shows I was at but couldn't find. I was greatly amused to notice I was downloading this on it's 20th anniv.
I was a dumb ass and left my friend's and my tix on the Miami side of the state. We only noticed this upon arrival at the venue. UGH! My friend got both nights pretty quick, but I could only score the second night. Having come all the way from CA I had to get in. I decided to try the old trick of using tix with different date. I somehow made myself invisible without anyone asking me for my tix. Both nights, problem solved. However no seat at a reserved show.
Music is always a nice opener but never pounds. Sugaree has some nice vocal moments from Jerry. Blow Away is probably the highlight of the set.
Set II has a wonderful opening song combo, the only downside is Playing never really goes anywhere. Drums/Space is lots of fun. Energetic 2nd half of this set with a beautiful Stella. Peace
