Su89 Giants Stadium N1
Shakedown Street opener! I love these summer shows, every damn last one of them, really. Some playful lyrical flubs early on, but it works itself out. Otherwise, I really dig the song selection of the first set, from start to finishing Bird Song. No Garcia ballad post-drumz. Just some good ole' rock and roll from the Grateful Dead. Brokedown Palace encores.

Memorable shows
Great Great times.Just graduated high school and did the tour. Remember having our tents right in the lot. They had tanker trucks brought in for fresh water. Also remember just as Shakedown began swarms of people were jumping down onto the floor. It looked like a waterfall of people.Great memories.

Giant show at Giants Stadium
Just got back from 6 months in the Middle East and heard they were playing at Giants in a few days, which is 45 minutes away by car. Got a ticket in the lot. Mid field, middle deck. WOW what a super-charged show it was. 80,000 phreaks getting down. One of the most epic shows I saw as EVERYONE was digging it! From first row to nosebleed seats the place was-a-rockin'

Another fine show in the swamps of joisey
Actually the rain was the next night. Was lucky enough to be under the mezzanine myself & stayed relatively dry lol. This night stands out for many reasons inc healy fuckin w john scher's intro of the boys into a SMOKIN Shakedown. The eve seemed to just get better w each song. First set cooks & sets the stage perfectly for set 2 that among too many highlights to lost includes what may be the finest china>rider I've seen at a show i was at. Hot hot night in the meadowlands. So kick back crank up the volume & enjpy this damn fine show. Truly a standout in a summer tour filled w fine shows

Summer 89 what a hey day
The last tent city tour, where most venues you could just camp in the parking lots, how convenient.
This show is up there with shoreline, alpine, and cal expo which are all the cream of the summer. The tour itself; they were consistently playing SOooooo elevated and tight it was incredible to see live.
And if you were in the right spot, down low in the impact zone, it was the mothers milk of sound quality.
Peace

Great Show
Not big break outs yet but a great Shakedown>Jack Straw. It probably helps that I was about 30 feet from Phil looking across at Jerry.
