Looks like this AUD and all subsequent versions of it are about the same in terms of cloudiness. This one has lots of bass, but the Geg Holtz AUD has just as much and is clearer.

Haven't listened to it all yet but one listen into Touch of Grey... that big ocean of sound comes through nicely.
Phil of course but Mickey and Bill have been doing it so long you can hear them leave space while creating that driving under thunder. I've always liked Vince too.
Love the 24bit recordings thank you taper guys, really REALY appreciate your efforts. Can't ever repay you. Nice and clear.
Unrelated but fun for me. I saw Joe Zawinul around 2000 in an LA nightclub once, noticed Bruce Hornsby was sitting at the table right behind me. I don't thing too many people recognized him. I'd seen a few Dead shows goin' back to 1967 but wasn't a bonified "Head" yet being obsessed with Sun Ra and the avant jazz and rock scene.
These free tapes have converted me. I even like some C&W now. I'm a "Fred Head" too! Living life backwards I guess. Kind of weird all the rednecks look like hippies now and the Hippies are keeping Amerika in money due to their star trek computer fixation in the Bay Area eh? Listening to this on a computer made by the Steve Jobs acid head/phone phreaker corporation #2 and gaining on Exxon.
Freak Freely!!!
