Sears Tower painted by Monet
A favorite show. See the mentions in the previous reviews of the "backdrop" painted by the weather, and oh, yes, I remember even now how tremendously the sky was as she ran through the entire color wheel while day settled into dusk. Attended this with my then girlfriend and, even though part of me wishes I could have attended the show with someone else who was equally enthralled with G-D, as the gap between us grew more cavernous with every passing song, I was able to deeply relate to my first 'Looks Like Rain' (on one level at least). Thanks to CM for all of his tireless work and for this recording in particular. Quite rightly!

Cold wind and rain
I was about 2/3's way back about 1/2 way up the stands. Very hard to tell what was being played on stage. The wind was so strong it would push the sound away. Of course this was the show I got to see a Dark Star being played!? Never had seats so far away and I could hardly hear it. Go figure. Like the recording. Have to listen to the whole thing to know what I was missing in the cold wind and rain.

very worthy show
agree w/ previous comment that show gets pretty jammed out for a first nite in a multi-show run.
2nd set lifts off at playin' thru end. great set.

Can we have aud. copy so that we can download this show
Yes it was a great show, I would dearly love a downloadable version. 1st set is amazing couldn't figure out who was playing sax during shakedown st. for a couple minutes til i figured it was jerry. yin-yangs made for a very strange 2nd set.

Very nice upgrade
Thanks, Charlie Miller, for your work on this recording. I thought the previous transfer sounded great, but that was before I'd heard this one.
First show at Soldier Field, and it was quite a scene. Spooky, cold weather that night made for a fun backdrop. Highlight of this show is the spectacular Shakedown in the number two slot. Masterpiece and Let it Grow also strong in the first.
Second set takes a while to get going, but really blasts off for the Playin'> Terrapin(!)> D/S> Dark Star jam> Playin' bit. Show was followed by surprise fireworks over the stadium.
