These three phoenix show were the worst Dead shows I saw. I remember leaving early for this show, skipping the encore, and as we were walking out (along with a lot of other people) two guys ahead of us were talking and one said "that was the worst dead show I ever saw." I did the spring tour and the shows were a bit better, but not by much. I think this really was the beginning of the end because 93 had some nice shows, but 94 and 95 pretty much blew.

This is a great recording that captures all the crowd energy that's missing on the soundboards. First set highlights are the Stranger opener and the Stagger Lee. There's a short but strong China>Rider and a magnificent Stella Blue in the second set. This show was a tough ticket, and heads stormed over the fence at the back of the lawn during Stagger Lee.
