Space needle......
This was a fun venue despite the unkind police attitude. Under the space needle and in the heart of downtown Seattle. I had some epic times seeing the Dead play here and I remember this show quite well.
Always happy to get a Shakedown and Eternity was well played....loved the dissonance and space of this tune and in my view a good set closer. I enjoyed the Samba....there was a light warmish northwest rain coming down and I just had to dance....and the acid had hit a nice plateau by this point. If there was a tune the band could always jell on despite the ups and downs of a show it was Truckin and what a treat to get a rarely played song like That would be Something. Truckin all the way through Space was the highlight of this show for me and this Space was one to remember. Though the part with the apollo moon landing is cut from this recording this was one of the most spacy, out there, odd, and frightening Drums/Space segments I ever heard. At one point Billy & Mickey had me cowering on the ground trying to hide behind the heads in front of me. SOTM was beautifully done and quintessential Jerry....seems he could always pull one out of the hat.
Listening to these two shows again brings back a lot of good memories. I don't think Jerry was in very good shape for this run but we were all there and it was real.

My 32nd show, & one of the best
Possibly THE best, at least of the ones I saw. Since the previous night was almost definitely the worst, I was grateful. I don't review SBD recordings very often, and the main reason I'm doing it today is to ask if ANYONE has an AUD of this. I used to have an AUD tape of the second set, and the Victim/Lazy River Road, my first Samba (I love this song, let the Vince-haters say little or much), and the superlative ending suite of Truckin' through Sugar Mag (including possibly the psychedelickest Drums/Space ever) went down in my personal history as the tape I listened to the most. It had the encore all the way through, too, which neither of these SBDs has. I learned how to play the entire set on my guitar. Sadly, all my tapes were destroyed in a fire the following year (not long after Garcia passed). I had a tumultuous, very epic acid experience at this show, my girlfriend and I really connected...and I ran into an old friend, one of my buddies who I'd been to the Oakland New Year's 87 and 89 shows and several others with, and he looked great and seemed happy. All in all, it more than made up for the previous night and psyched me up for the upcoming Eugene shows.

NICE SBDS!
Wow thank you so much for posting these sbds, I truely appreciate it. This was my second Dead show, the night before being my first. When I was 16 years old. I cherish what little memory I have left of these shows and the 3 night run that followed in Eugene. It was a great start to my teen and later adult years. It's always been an inspiration and a major influence to my life, even though the scene was dark in some aspects. It was and will always be a magical place in time in my memory. Long live the Grateful Dead, it's always been difficult for me to think I will never see Jerry and the boys play together again, and the craziness that follows them. I've seen reunion shows, and followed phish for years after this, but nothing compares. Thanks again, and is there ANY way you have soundboards of 6.13.94??
