Only SBD
As previously noted, the bass is heavy...but the same criticism is made of the AUD recordings available. CM's crossfade works wonders, but
the gap from a tape flip resulted in ~2 minutes of Row Jimmy being lost at 5:40. Then again, it's the only SBD of this night from the band's greatest month (IMHO). At least worth a listen if not a place in your collection...

First Jack Straw since '74 and the crowd goes crazy for it! And might I add, it SMOKES!

hit me!
somehow got my brains back inside my skull cap after last night's stealing of my face. back down in the first few rows for tonight's first set where the sound is sweet. the band is in comfortable stride tonight - laidback, but no sandbagging it. energetic double-opener with keith tickling the keys hard in promised land and bertha showcasing every band member's talents. spot on! this is my kinda pace for my 9th show - every night since philly, and i don't think i want (can?) dance too hard tonight. in fact, i'm in my seat, head back, eyes closed and just soaking it in. crisp me&my uncle and then another jerry soulful lamentation, which after last night's double dose, makes me cry, again. jack straw - yessir, another bustout! lowkey lead to a most excellent jimmy; again, everyone shines on tonight's version. sound goes a little funky (my ears, maybe?) during LL>S, but it's followed by a right rollicking deal and then it's a surprise second set interloper - just what the doctor, doctor, doctor ordered. i'm getting my show legs back, so i float back up the aisle to see the captain up in the loge for the rest of the set...

pretty good show
all though the pace does drag at points you can still really get a good listen to jerrys quick licks up and down the fret board. also donna, jerry, and bobbys voices sound beautiful in the slow songs. it gives me the shivers

Jack Straw
Thought I'd give this a listen, their first attempt since October 1974. The sound quality here seems a little muddy, not crisp. The bass levels seem a bit high. The piano begins with a figure that feels like the WRS prelude. Garcia has some nice ascending scalar runs, but the general pace is a little draggy.
