Man, the versions of Terrapin Station, ,Estimated Prophet, & Wharf Rat this night were all top-notch. Especially Terrapin. Second only to 1977-02-26, IMO. Great show. The AUD is very good, too!

I was fortunate enough to be at this incredible concert, sitting stage left.I prefer this recording because of its "being there" type of sound...,yes the old Gardens had weird acoustics,to say the least...,but IMHO sbd recordings, though technically perfect;tend to sound somewhat flat.At least this version is good if only for the amazing "Mississippi Half-Step"!

disc 2, Track six- Do I Smell SULFUR?
That track really drags along at like half-tempo.
Put me to sleep.
Last trk on 2nd disc comes thru pretty good though.
Excellently, actually.
quality of the sound is quite good throughout.

I was at this show and listening to it again is pretty amazing. The Wharf Rat gave me chills then, and still does.

A friend of mine had this one on when i bopped by his house...its his Dads first show. Pissah first show...good bertha and peggy, great Miss 1/2 step. I walked into Terrapin, and was a dancin fool. Good show all together. Plus, its at the Garden, which is always a good sign.

I have about 150 Dead shows, and this rates right up there with the best in my collection. This would be one of the shows 10 shows I'd share with someone new to the Dead. Mississippi Half Step rocks on this show. Vocals and instruments are very clear, and you can hear the audience at the start and conclusions of songs. Piano is a bit heavy... other than that it's great or should I say "grate"? Enjoy!

There is a fine, fine SBD of this show posted on the Archive. Look at the "Other Sources" box above. This is one excellent show.

Don't know why only an audience is posted of this fine show. I have a very crispy soundboard with great versions of FOTD, Terrapin and Wheel (perhaps my favorite). Also, great Bertha to open the show and one of my all-time favorite Peggy-o's. Seek out a trade for the soundboard - it sounds great and is worth the effort.
