This is a very, very, very GOOD show. I want so bad to give it five stars I could scream, but having Stella, R&R, and OMSN on the same night just doesn't cut it. In general, the show skirts the X Factor outer boundries. But having the above ending kills all hope for a fifth star. The Space into OO is spectacular, and the whole show is solidly played and well sung. But damn. Youz Guyz came sooo close.
This recording is well produced with excellent fidelity. Sounds like it's positioned just in front of the board. I also prefer this recording way more than the overly-vocaled SBD. My god. I was cringing about every thirty seconds on that horrible thing... a bunch of sckreeeching cats going at it on Saturday night. Phew. At least on this recording, you can enjoy the music. Thanks again Mr. Glassberg. Don't know what I'd do withoutcha'. As is stated in the Compendium, "This show is a keeper."

The show is remarkable: genius, but extremely mellow right up until the three Bobby rock'n'roll song ending. The jams are sublime, but all the songs that usually have dramatic peaks are lacking in that kind of variation on this night, and this is mostly Garcia's fault. He sounds very spaced out and introspective, but beautiful. Nice warm audience tape with great definition.

Subject: Pretty good show!
Subject: Pretty good show!
I was listening to this because I am really interested in the history of the Uptown Theater in Chicago (which is empty and decaying, but still impressively large from the outside). And because I like the Dead. Anyway, very warm and clean audience, sounds pretty crisp. Not a bad show either. Has some good moments

So I knew going in OMSN would either end the show or be the encore. Never a problem for me!
