Sweet memories
After the 50th celebration at Soldier Field it's so nice to listen to shows attended from Dillon Stadium in 1972 to Sam Boyd in 1992. I got a ticket to this show because my pal Eric's girlfriend's husband wouldn't let her go. Our flight was the last to depart at
6:00 AM before the fog shut down the airport. The view of the hills of San Francisco and the Golden Gate above the fog was spectacular.

Goodnight Irene
Wonderful show if just for Goodnight Irene which totally enbalms the entire scene in incense of cherish cat jerry grinning guitar notes into the algorithim chocolate factory.
A thoroughly enjoyable and thoughtfully prepared morsel from the pre-FM cassette days, Jay Ashley lovingly transforms this masterpiece into something truly spectacular on any occasion. Serve with chilled white wine and capers.

Ticket for Orange Peels
I was a 17 year old kid on my first venture away from home for this run. I had gotten into the first 3 shows. I got into this NYE show by picking up trash and orange peels for BGP security guards. A group of us were camped out of the ticket window at SFCA after the show on the 30th. Somehow there were masses amounts of oranges being passed out. We had heard a rumor that in years past the ticket window opened early in the morning on New Years. The window never opened. Around 6 am on NY morning about 10 of us witnessed a BGP security arguing with SFPD officers about all the orange peels and trash. One of the security guards named Joel (sp) promised us he would let us in to the show if we cleaned up the peels. We got the peels and he handed us some paper "all access" passes with the word all marked out. The pass were taken at the door and I was in.
The hall was packed and I spent the night dancing to the speakers in the hallways. The sound was very good and I remember a real hot space guitar jam into Throwing Stones with everyone in hall falling down and over each other on to the "ashes ashes" lines. The NFA was a memorable jam. After the second set bags of goodies were passed out. The third set was quick and and tight.
This recording sounds as good as the hallway speakers at the civic.

My favorite year
my first shows were in the Spring of 83 as a college sophomore. Was treated to a "hometown show" in the summer (City Island) and, well, 1983 was just a really sweet year. Listening to the show on my nice work computer, the clicking sound is in the left speaker and I agree that it is sufficiently well-timed to be part of the drumming. Weird. Was this the New Years Show that was simulcast on USA Network's old "Night Flight" late bight program. I seem to recall dancing wildly to Goodnight Irene in the small hours at a friend's all night bash...

bass drum
I think the "clicking" you're hearing is the bass drum. It is very well defined on this recording...at least early.. I'm just starting Esau right now.
Great 80s show!

Fun Show
Hi, this was a great show & we had a blast. I downloaed the shorten files (the 1st 3 files anyway) and I'm hearing a constant clicking sound out of the left speaker. Any help with this. I tried to downloaded it again but no dice. It's a shame too because this seems like such good quality.
