Damn. I was 16yo at this big bouncing party and still get the Chill when I listen to it.
The early 90s was a pretty swell time to be a budding fan in the deep south : "One from the Vault" had been recently released, and suddenly "The Dead are playing Atlanta!" - and you could somehow make it to the Omni, find tickets, ingest real LSD for the 1st time, and experience this band performing Eyes of The World like this. JG did what he does, between 4:10-4:40, and, well, that was it for me.

Just moved to ATL in '93. Good, smooth Eyes. Tried to get the snowed out Cleveland show a week prior but weather was so bad we had to turn around. Remember still some snow around in ATL from the freak storm. Good energy from Jerr bear.

Listening to this recording is almost like being there. The dynamic range of those mics just blows me away. The entire band comes through brilliantly, from the deepest bass to Jerry's screaming guitar on Watchtower, Standing on the Moon, and Saturday Night.
There were always a lot of FOTD at the Atlanta shows, like Dave Schools, Col. Bruce Hampton, Kevin Kenney, Warren Haynes, Pete Buck, Mike Mills, etc. - I could go on and on.
In my group was NORML activist Joe Ionno, and several local musicians. I can say that this show was a truly "crushing" experience, particularly after the Space when we drained our flasks of single malt, got fresh beers, and breathed in the atmosphere. In fact, the entire Omni had looked like a fog machine was running from the middle of the first set onwards...
Watchtower is just beyond words on this recording; Jerry sounds 15 years younger in style and energy, and he had seemed to be getting tired midway into the second set! After Watchtower, Jerry and Bobby just rock out on Standing on the Moon, and the incredible, concrete-shaking Lesh-tastic bass comes through fully on this tape throughout! You gotta use a good rig with some big speakers for playback - it's just amazing!
Finally, the double encore made it truly hard to call it a night... Guess that's why we went and saw the Shamen play a rave afterwards (one of the first raves in Atlanta)!
As we say in the Ole South, we was "woah out"...
Because of the excellent clarity and dynamic presence, and clean sound of this recording I give it a 5, with no reservations! It was a wonderful start to my 34th B-day weekend - with two more shows to go - and they were all so good.
Enjoy!

With eq, this is a great recording. The performance is vg overall, with a few loose moments and some excellent ones as well. The last four songs seem to really catch fire.

I still remember this show pretty well. Good scene, good crowd inside, looked like a lot of real heads there. Both sets opened with Jerry tunes but it was very much Bobby's show. Me and My Uncle saved the first set after So Many Roads (first time I ever heard it, and I really hadn't warmed up to it yet), and I thought Truckin' similarly saved the second set after Lazy River Road. Bob was especially passionate during Looks Like Rain, a real highlight, and Smokestack Lightning was a real treat. Jerry did come through during Eyes and also during the jam out of Truckin', which really got the crowd fired up. All told, one of the better shows from one of the better tours of the 90s.

This show is worthwhile for a really jazzy and sweet second set eyes opener. The remaining pre-drumz is also strong.
Not the absolute best aud, but very listenable.
