Subject: this was my Birthday show
Subject: this was my Birthday show
I remember this show for three reasons. The first, it was my Birthday. The second, i remember there being something wrong with the sound the whole night. If i am not mistaken, Healy had quite/or was fired, and John Cutler was then the FOH mix engineer, and he had trouble all night long trying to get the sound right. I could be wrong about this. It could have been the following night, or my memory is not good. Thirdly, when i got home from the show, i found that my house had been broken into, and somebody(one of my former friends) had stolen all my weed. I was pissed.

the setlists had become very short predictable and the only thing that got the band off were the new tunes and i will admit a sniper with vinces name on it was long overdue but to the gentle man who did not like liberty {hunters best tune in 30 years )and piccasoo moon probably should have stayed in the parking lot and talked about how the rangers suck the highlight of the show and the whole tour was dylan who had his best tour in 30 years he blew the roof off the joint then came the boys struggling threw another monstrous east coast tour i would stand way up behind the stage and listen to jerry pour out his soul and lonliness threw his first set band post drum balads knowing i was watching a legend give the best bhe had to give how much will never know from 87 on these days were all borrowed and no time to be critical but now just enjoy

I was somewhere in this audience too- but my ability to assess the show was greatly impaired by the bourbon we were passing out in exchange for a joke.
you knew you weren't in for a tight 'performance' when 1/2step wasn't a verse old before Jerry was off the rails.
Love to hear the show, because of memories (which is what it is all about) but this really was a prelude to the summer death march that was '95... and any Corinna Picasso Moon and even Liberty was enough for me to head to the beer line at this point.
Recording is 3+ star, musicianship/playing is a 2 star for 94, but its ok to like this show if you were there...
thanks for loading it up!

Sat 4th row center for this one and was ready to leave when they went into Corrina. Not that the other one, attics, sugar mag was enough to save the show, it was a welcome relief. Strangely, they sound better listening to it now than it did at the time. Maybe I was just longing for the days before Vince?
