The volume of fashion plates or "gravures de mode" was possibly assembled by the magistrate and antiquary from Nancy, Jean-Nicolas Beaupré (1795-1869). It features the work of five printmakers and printers active in Paris during the reign of Louis XIV, Nicolas Arnoult (15 plates), Claude-Auguste Berey (1 plate), Henri and Nicolas Bonnart (1 plate each), and Franz Ertinger (2 plates), and that of the draftsman Jean Dieu de Saint-Jean (5 plates)
