The first volume of the diary documents Waldo Schmitt's work during the Hancock Pacific-Galapagos Expedition, 1935. Covers dates November 23, 1934 - January 14, 1935. Entries are dated. Begins with an index of station data that includes station number, dates, latitude and longitude positions, water temperature, and air temperature.
