The expedition was conducted with the cooperation of the U.S. Navy, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and USDA. Begins with an itinerary.Subjects discussed include: presence and harvesting of bat guano and on Laysan Island; detailed description of Laysan Island on approach; discussion of observed bird life (several mentions of Albatross), vegetation, and animals; descriptions of hikes across the island and its varying terrain; introduction of Laysan Rail to other islands; birds lists; bird counts; staffing lists.
