Subject: Unfortunate About The Sound
Subject: Unfortunate About The Sound
What is it about jam bands in Japan? Phish in 2000, Moe. in 2001, and String Cheese in 2002, all of these shows by all of these guys are great. I guess the guys get pumped about a new venue and new fans. This here is a good show, at times very good - as in a killer Rec-Chem, a meandering Four that then kicks it up, and never overlook a Bodhisattva. Also, note the Pink Floyd tease in Four (I just can't name that song!) and one other show note, keep listening after Bodishattva to catch the kool musac for our foreign friends...
Unfortunately, the sound here is muddled, muffled, distant, average at best, and that's a shame to not get this show down well. It's just average/poor enough that I won't be replaying it any time soon.
So 3 stars for the sound, 4 for the show, and I average that out as 3.

I had a buddy of mine convince(force) me to come to this show because I didn't know who moe. was at the time but this show changed my life. moe. was totally off the hook. Don't be fooled by the setlist. Not many segues but the jams are amazing. Chuck's scat part/solo on Lazarus just sucks you in and Recreational Chemistry peaks to a point where your head will explode. A must have for all moe. fans.
