Subject: Supporting the legacy of Fernando Callejo
Subject: Supporting the legacy of Fernando Callejo
I am a proud graduate of the Fernando Callejo High Scool, class of 68, Manati, Puerto Rico. Coincidences shared with this great composer include both having been born in the town of Humacao, Puerto Rico and having lived in the city of Manati. Recently my path in life has allowed me to learn more about Fernando Callejo through his grandson William Callejo who resides in Dallas. "Bill" as he is known among his friends is a master storyteller with an incredible memory that takes you on a journey to the past that is vivid and emotional. I have just joined a website for graduates of Fernando Callejo High Schol of Manati, class of 82, but found that the biography and works of this master composer were missing.
It is with great honor that I will work to ensure the legacy of Fernando Callejo is brought to the city of Dallas through a new school that will allow our youth to explore his works and awaken their own hidden talents. I invite others to join me in this effort to maintain the legacy of Fernando Callejo alive for future generations. My contact information is:judithtomes@yahoo.com
