This source is the same as the historic recordings of the Grateful Dead on the same dates (08-05-71 & 08-06-71), and is considered among some of the very best live audience recordings of the early 1970's. There are no soundboard recordings circulating for these shows.

Subject: Wish the audience wasn't so loud

I was there for this excellent night with the Riders and Dead. It was Lawrence Welk's home venue, there was a huge billboard of him on one wall with his arm and conductor's stick that moved up and down.
The stage looked like ancient Rome with pillars.
What a trip.

Good set list that night but the sound quality of this recording leaves much to be desired.
