The primary PMS operation site was in northern Egypt. Surveys were also conducted in Cyprus and Israel. The PMS involved scientists of the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Naval Medical Research Unit, and Yale University, and was funded by the Army Research Office, the Smithsonian Foreign Currency Program, and the Smithsonian Research Foundation. George E. Watson, Chairman, Department of Vertebrate Zoology, and Curator, Division of Birds, National Museum of Natural History, was Principal Investigator". Surveys were also conducted in Uganda.A photocopy of a folder cover was inserted in the folder and marked with the range of form numbers (040- 02116-02348) and the note "Checked against printout. Retrap entered."The banding forms are dated from March 23 to May 20, 1970. They show the date, locality of capture and release, the bird species, band number, sex (as determined by plumage, soft parts, or otherwise), age (as determined by plumage, soft parts, skull or otherwise), weight, fat, molt, and additional remarks. A punch card was inserted after forms 040-02126-29
