Nice band, great performance, excellent recording.
David Nelson said he got bored one day and learned how to play Panama Red backwards. You can hear him play it at the beginning of the track. "When you listen to the show backwards, you'll hear Panama Red normally." Here is the recording of him playing it backwards live on stage, backwards.

This sounds great. Nice job Nico!
The line up for this evening is great: Molo, Nelson and Sless are the backbone and ribs of the David Nelson Band, aka, the "keepers of the key." These guys have a loose, avuncular approach to the Grateful Dead sound. It's like a session around your campfire which falls into tune and timing before unraveling again, nailing some key nugs along the way.
I am reminded of the PLF Nelson shows in 99 w/Kreutzmann or the winter/summer 2006 tours with Molo, Osborne and Sless. I enjoy this, more, however, as Larry Campbell is not stepping on others with a heavy *rock* sound. Very Nelson-bandy, very loose and open. I likey.
