^ Notes: There are level adjustments the first minute of the show, and slightly lower levels overall until about 3 minutes into the show/recording. After that initial first 3 minutes, the levels are fine. This is hardly noticeable, and If I didnt say anything, would have probably gone unnoticed :) Enjoy!

Bobby & Ratdog!!!
Probably my first festival, and the Ratdog set was incredible. It had its elongated jazzy jams for sure, but that was Ratdog in 07... Truly amazing during all of the rock and roll they jammed out all night. The end of the show, when Joe (who I find it to be amazing later fell in love with the Dead's music, joined Furthur, and now leads JRad with Tommy Hamilton) came out "early" (as his and Marco's set was delayed already nearly an hour allegedly, though I was not aware or concerned) and then Bobby and the band for their encore tore into a roaring version of Touch! And they even went back into it again for a reprise before ending it for the night!! Awesome!

Looking back....
This show was hilariously slow paced, but so good. Just listen, Kimock sounds great and the band flows beautifully. It was in fact, kinda cold. I know I was sleepy and the crowd wasn't as packed as it was for Keller/Keels. Those guys had the crowd by the balls. Bobby, bless his heart didn't. I'll say this, if you're a Bobby fan and want here a chill show with amazing moments, this is a great one.
...and then there was the "battle of the bands" ordeal with the drum sticks flying up in the air and all the heavy energy. Hilarious. So glad I was there.

mr.dick sauce....fa-Q
Man, I hate to be an ass but
mr.dick sauce singled me out for some reason. What I originally wrote wasn't anything bad considered to what others wrote so don't try and single me out guy. Flame on bro.
My original ranting-
Someone is actually crying that Bobby was cool enough to play a little longer, wow how ungrateful. I do respect your opinion and inexperience, but The Duo is ok as a opening act and thats about it. I'm not knocking them, but seriously you want to talk about 'boring over drawn' playing.

guiness you werent there
i dont like to have to write this but guiness is an idiot so im gonna clear things up- - bobby went on forever playing his space bullshit just making everyone dizzy- kids were fallin over everywhere - it freezing cold- and he refused to throw down a nice steady groove to warm everyone up-you couldnt dance to half his crap- i enjoyed his set but it was definatly torture/too serious for the cold-- sts burned that place down after- made bobby look like a fool-- which he was-- this isnt 8/8/82- this is 2007 all good and he was being a dick

No Festival should limit Ratdog's play time....
I'm happy that Ratdog played longer than their alotted time slot. An average Ratdog show is way better than anything the Duo will ever do. And besides, Bob Weir is and will contintue to be a legend for a very long, long time. How many people will be talking about the Duo or STS9 forty years from now? A small number to be sure. People should be thankful that the man is still out there rockin' for the people, most of whom were there to see Ratdog and not some side stage act. Nuff said.

show was only okay, but no need to trash bobby
This recording is good but the show lacked energy. They jammed longer then ratdog usually does but it never seemed to ever really take off. I remember thinking bobby's vocals sounded good on lazy river road though. I personly wasn't outraged by bobby telling the duo to hold it so they could encore. Then again I was in rush to hear the duo. Sorry if your a fan of there's and you were offended. I was just under the impression that ratdog was supposed to friday night's main attraction and it seemed reasonable that they get some flexibility on set time. I'm sure they were just trying to put on a good show for us ,and even if the show was nothing special I still can't blame them for trying.

Sad to hear Bob was a d@#k!
It is sad to hear Bob was such an asshole. He needs to get a grip if this is true.
Aside from that, this recording and the set is great. Kimock's contribution is building, but has not quite reached its full potoential in this set. By the time of the 10,000 Lakes set and by the Redrocks set Steve's presence has totally reached its full potential. Those two sets are amazing!

Ratdog Full Of Themselves
Agree with another poster. They went onstage right at their allotted time, meaning the other bands were polite enough to stick to their time slots so the other bands could play their sets. Ratdog went over 35 minutes and then when they finally FINALLY stopped playing their overly boring overbearing drawn out set, the Duo kicked in. But wait, Bob's not done! They gotta come out and play some more...oh boy, an encore but the Duo's already started, but Bob starts yelling into his microphone. I didn't think it was hilarious, I thought it was obnoxious and incredibly rude. So, the Duo stopped and let Ratdog play another 10 minutes more. They went fully 45 minutes over their timeslot. When the Duo FINALLY came onstage, the time should have bene when they were supposed to stop and STS9 was supposed to start. Not only is Bob short sighted about his views on taping (apparently not realizing that the live taping community IS the reason for his continued on-stage existance after all these years of resting on the Deads laurels), but he's an asshole taboot!
By the way, the only reason I give this such a low rating is because of Bob's attitude and the show, not because of the quality of the recording. Beans recording is great.

OK set
Set was pretty jarbled with a lot of distorted Jam without cohesion. Not good for a lot of people trip's to tell the truth. Track with Keller was great and when Bob went out during Keller's set that was epic. Bob's set was LOOOOONG drawn out and people were ready for his ass to go when he came back out and played another. This consequently threw off Duo's set and change their track selection..Joe Russo was indeed pissed. Thanks Bob ur long trippy ass vibe lasted clear til the next morning (or so it felt) and u made STS9 play at almost
4:00 in the morning. Read JamBase All Good review...they described it perfectly.
