This collection contains a handwritten poem and letter by Rudolf Borchardt. The bulk of the collection, however, consists of two manuscripts by Borchardt, and a biographical piece on his life and relationship to Judaism. The first manuscript, "Geschichte des Heimkehrenden (Das Buch Joram)," is a tale written by Borchardt set in biblical times., while the second"Hamlet," discusses scholarly and critical views of the role of Hamlet. Finally, Werner Kraft's "Rudolf Borchardt und das Judentum" offers a biographical and critical analysis of Borchardt's life and works.
