we spent a week on SKB tour from Madison on the 18th through Kansas on the 25th I believe. This was my favorite powerhouse lineup from heaven. I'll never forget.
This show might have been the best of the midwest and for the tour, right up there with the Chester shows.
This wasn't a chatty loud, filled to capacity night but a respectful and extremely stoned appreciative audience, around 80% capacity. Elmer's was pure heaven, one hell of a cool version.
But the 2nd set is where shit got real. There are carbon copies of these tunes in this order on many a night, but man from the opening Hangers that just refused to let go...just a huge crescendo jam to ecstasy. I implore you to listen to the last 2 tunes of the evening if anything. Long Form and perhaps my personal road to Damascus moment...Avalon. The best I've ever heard. Peace to you and yours!
